I am unable to log into FrontPage to upload files

Symptoms

You are attempting up upload files via Frontpage but your username and password are not being accepted.

Causes

  • Incorrect Username and Password. Verify that you are using the username and password you created when installing FrontPage extensions.
  • Your ISP is using a transparent proxy on your connection which is not passing NTLM authentication. This affects many NTL / Telewest and Virgin Media users.

Solution

If you have carried out the above checks and you are still unable to publish, you should uninstall and then re-install FrontPage Extensions (please contact support via the helpdesk).

If you have an ISP transparent proxy problem, then you must either upload via a dial up connection with another dialup provider such as ourselves, or use FTP instead of FrontPage to upload your site. This problem is unfortunately outside of our control.
